Our Story

Prolight Optics is founded by me, a mechanical design engineer with 15 years experience designing products for the aerospace industry and consumer electronic products for the world’s largest cell phone manufacturer.  My passion has always been to design high quality innovative products.  The idea of offering magnifying loupes and lights came out of a conversation in 2009 with my brother and sister-in-law, both of whom are practicing dentists.   As dentists they felt that the current offerings for loupes and lights left something to be desired in the area of quality, price, and style.  Current suppliers are very high priced while the quality of discount suppliers is questionable.  Analyzing loupes from an online discounter yielded quite an eye-opening finding…the flip-up loupes fell off the frames to which they were mounted!  I knew there had to be something better to offer the healthcare community.   After much searching I found loupes that met my meticulous standards for quality and style at a good price.  For field testing I  gave the loupes to by my brother, sister-in-law, and my father, an emergency room physician.  The loupes were even scrutinized by a physical therapist to insure that the weight and the declination angle would allow professionals to use the loupes for extended periods while limiting eye strain and neck and back fatigue.

The focus of Prolight Optics will always be innovation.  We will never be content to sell the same products year-in and year-out.  This year our focus was to develop the Fidelis head mounted LED light (learn more) which is currently undergoing CE registration.  We strongly believe that our light is the best combination of weight, intensity, and battery life that money can buy.  At Prolight Optics we are continuously developing loupes and head mounted LED lights to offer you, the medical professional, a perfect blend of quality and price.
